Insurance Information for Psychotherapy Services
Services offered at A Welcoming Home are not covered by OHIP. However, some of our services may be covered by private extended health benefit plans.
It is important to note the difference between a Psychologist a Psychotherapist and a Social Worker, and how this may determine your coverage. Please check your benefits before booking to confirm your coverage, as insurance plans vary widely. At A Welcoming Home Psychotherapy, our clinicians are not responsible should your sessions be rejected by your provider. Invoices will be sent to you upon payment by email to be remitted to your provider for reimbursement.
We are not able to direct bill for therapy services at this time.
Sliding Scale / Reduced Rates
Our Psychotherapist reserves a limited number of spots for current clients who are uninsured and experiencing unexpected financial difficulties. Periodically, we will reassess your ability to pay to ensure these spots remain available for others who need support.
Credit Card Policy
A Welcoming Home requires all clients to keep a valid credit card on file. This policy isn’t personal; it is applied equally to all our clients. We understand that all client might not have a credit card. In order to book an appointment without one, please email - info@awelcominghomepsychotherapy.ca.
Payment Policy
Payment for your session is due at the end of the appointment. Accepted methods of payment include VISA, Mastercard, AMEX and E-Transfer. Invoices for private health insurance or income tax purposes are provided. New appointments will not be booked for clients with outstanding account balances.
Cancellation Policy
A Welcoming Home requires a minimum of 24 hours to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you are unable to provide sufficient notice or if your appointment is missed, the full appointment fee will be applied. You may cancel or reschedule your appointment by email, or through your online account until 24 hours in advance. Cancellation fees are not covered by private insurance.
We understand that circumstances can arise that are outside your control. To be fair to other clients who were not able to book in your reserved time, and to our practitioners who have held this time for you, we apply our cancellation policy automatically and without bias.
